What Its Like Being Mom Of David?

What is it like being mom of David? One word – Amazing

The truth is, motherhood changes my life as many moms around the world can also testify to it. At the same time, if I may say so, the role for me as a mom, completes my life. With another Mother’s Day around the corner, I am taking time to reflect on my role as a mom to my 4-year-old. Motherhood has been a journey full of privileges and delights, yet at the same time, it carries responsibilities for this little life.

When David was a baby, I prayed that he would grow strong and healthy. As he grows older, my prayers for him change according to his needs. How about his need to go to school, meeting new peers and making friends? What about his growing need to know Jesus and the Bible?

Did my role as a mom make me a better person?

Meanwhile, life is definitely better and joyous with David’s presence because he is the pride of our lives, both mine,  daddy’s, Michelle’s and grandpa’s as well. I live with challenges as a mom to David, a step-mom to Michelle, a daughter-in-law and a wife. Keeping all the roles in balance is at times tricky to juggle without losing a piece of who I am.

Incidentally, I have come to realize that who I am is also a part of who I represent in each of those I love and care about. So, in a way, my journey as mom to David allows me to discover my identity as a whole, therefore, my role as a mom does make me a better person because of what I discover and learn along the way.

I cannot image what’s life-like now without David

I found my purpose in life. For some, it’s becoming a nurse, a doctor, an engineer, an author. However, I’m immersed in joy learning all about my son, David. Discovering his potential and helping him discover his world.

My prayer for this little man is that as he grows up, Jesus will become his first love. God will watch over him like King David. God uses his gifting for His glory.
