Garden Weeds

Spring is the best time to start our gardening project, right? We get absolutely excited about the new vegetable garden we’ve been planning for the entire winter and we are so ready to begin. Oh wow.. the spring is here, and we can’t wait to look at our vegetable plot and lo and behold, we discover the vegetable plot is  totally covered and taken over by the garden weeds. Have this happened to you before? Do you like garden weeds? Removing the weeds is a painful task for most gardeners.  Is it fair for me to conclude that most gardeners do not like weeds? Please let me know if you strongly disagree. I would love to hear from you, just send me a comment.

While I’m here to write about some interesting facts about garden weeds, I would like to also bring your attention to some spiritual truths using the illustration of garden weeds which I believe God had taught me through the years I’ve been interested in gardening.  I hope you will gain some important truths after reading this article. Shall we begin?

With religious indifference taking root across this great land,

Jesus is the one who will help you make a stand.

Because he is God’s chosen man, he will lead you by his hands.

Through God’s grace and love, he will guide you from above.

Your burdens he will share, with your souls in his loving care.

Trusting Jesus you will survive, because I promise you he is alive.

United States Government Shutdown

For the last weeks while all Americans were watching intensely at the first possible government shutdown since 1995, we were all wondering what the outcome would be. What was the issue so great that the Democratic and Republican parties were unable to come to an agreement and the Government had to resort to shut down? Democratic party insisted on their continual financial support to Planned Parenthood and the Republican party opposed the budget. The bottom-line issue is therefore all about ABORTION. Does a woman therefore have her right to abort her baby? Should abortion be legalized? Today, I would like to discuss about this issue as a woman myself and my perspective on our law regarding this topic.

loading Stories That Inspire..

A man from Norfolk , VA called a local radio station to share this on Sept. 11th, 2003 , TWO YEARS AFTER THE TRAGEDIES OF 9/11/2001. His name was Robert Matthews. These are his words:

A few weeks before Sept. 11th, my wife and I found out we were going to have our first child. She planned a trip out to California to visit her sister. On our way to the airport, we prayed that God would grant my wife a safe trip and be with her. Shortly after I said ‘amen,’ we both heard a loud pop and the car shook violently. We had blown out a tire. I replaced the tire as quickly as I could, but we still missed her flight. Both very upset, we drove home. I received a call from my father who was a retired NYPD. He asked what my wife’s flight number was, but I explained that we missed the flight. My father informed me that her flight was the one that crashed into the southern tower. I was too shocked to speak. My father also had more news for me; he was going to help. ‘This is not something I can’t just sit by for; I have to do something.’

Recab

A great earthquake of 8.9 hit Japan at about 2-3pm, during their most busy part of the day, yesterday. It was reported to last about 5-6 minutes. The buildings were rattling, objects falling off the shelves, people taking cover under their desks, and running for safety areas. Imagining that 5 minutes, though could have gone by pretty fast on a normal working day, it was felt by many like it lasted for ‘a long, long time’ especially when a sense of helplessness creep in. Immediately, after the earthquake stopped, Tsunami alert was announced in Sendai, in the North East of Japan. Evacuation was reported to take place in that city. Sendai has a population of 1 million people. Most of the residents are farmers and fishermen. Shortly, a reported 24 foot high Tsunami hit Sendai as warned. Tsunami Massive rush of sea water covered over within 50 miles area of Sendai, removing boats, cars, houses as it moved into the inland of Sendai. Hours later, Tsunami warnings were issued to several countries, such as Taiwan, Russia, Philippines, Guam, Papua New Guinea, Hawaii, and Indonesia. Tsunami alerts were later extended to 50 other countries due to the massive 8.9 earthquake earlier. Now what a day!!

Spring is here

Have you notice lately, when you walk up close to a seemingly ‘dead’ and bare tree, you notice tiny shoots appearing from the buds? Do you get excited? You are probably right if you believe spring is well on its way. Spring, I believe is one of my favorite seasons of the year. That means I get to plant my new sunflowers again. For some reason, spring brings along much joy and gladness not just for the adults but also for the children. They get to play outside in spring, after staying indoor for the last 3 months of winter. The adults get to plan their new gardening projects. There is an anticipation of excitement and promises of fun for everyone.
